In 2015 Army Veteran Bill Wilson recently retired from the Army and was looking for a fresh start, so he entered the 4th annual Operation Vetrepreneur: Become Your Own General contest. Here’s a brief Q&A with Bill.
1. Why did you enter the Operation Vetrepreneur: Become Your Own General contest?
I entered the contest because my wife Barb and I love to travel and share our love of travel. After being stationed in Germany the travel bug grew. I thought this would be a great opportunity to spread the love of travel and help others see the world.
2. What do you like best about owning a Dream Vacations travel agency franchise?
The best thing about owning a Dream Vacations travel agency franchise is the opportunity to help others explore new areas, and learn about new places to visit through our clients. Owning a travel franchise is always a learning opportunity.
3. What is the best part about the support you get from Dream Vacations?
The support is fantastic! Support Services always has the answer and is available to help us, the Marketing team gives us the tools we need to succeed and because of our affiliation with parent company World Travel Holdings, we have access and relationships with a variety of travel vendors.
4. How do your military skills translate into franchise ownership?
Military skills that translate are being organized and task-oriented, as well as being an out-of-the-box thinker.
5. What’s your dream vacation?
I have so many places I would like to visit. We have not toured Asia, and Vietnam fascinates me, so that is my dream vacation!
